Christopher just being Christopher

Christopher is such a character. Everyday he does something that just makes you laugh. He is so cute and has me and his mother wrapped around his little adorable fingers. He actually gets angry now and starts to talk while he is angry, I can only imagine what he is saying, but I know he is not happy.

Hope you enjoy some of his recent pictures.

He is making his gums feel good.

Look at that smile.

He's so adorable.

Enjoying a good book.

Enjoying his fingers.

Christopher and his Buddy

Lina captured Christopher reaching for his new buddy Xavier's arm. It is the cutest thing to see a baby grow so fast and start to do things different everyday. At least he didn't try to hit him.

Baby Goes to Church

Yesterday, March 5, we took Christopher to church for the first time. I have to admit it was an overwhelming experience, taking him to the place that just a year ago, we were praying for a healthy baby to love and cherish. Knowing that God had a hand in creating our boy, it felt so good to finally be in church with him.

Happy Three Months Christopher

Our baby is three months old today. He is changing so much, growing so fast. Looking back, we can't believe it is only three months, but we are so grateful that he is finally here to share our life with him.

Christopher Up-Date

I have been so busy at work, that I haven’t had the time to write in my blog.

Well, just an update or two, Christopher will make 3 months on March 3rd. Wow, how fast time is flying, I actually want to stop time and make it go slow. Lina is enjoying her time at home with him, and we are both dreading when she will have to return to work in June. Well barring a miracle or even a lotto winning ticket we will have to hand him over to a baby sitter, but if you all believe in prayer, I will love a job that pays me well enough and also offers great benefits, I am willing to do just about anything but strip, and I am sure that won’t be a great sight. LOL nah just kidding, we’ll leave that issue in God’s hands, but prayers are always welcomed. I am willing to do the manly job of working and allowing my wife to stay home with the baby……………….ok everyone say “AAAAHHHHH!!!!!” LOL (just in case you don’t know what this means – LOL = Laugh Out Loud)

Christopher has found his hands, this happened almost a month ago, now he can’t get them out of his mouth, looks like he wants to swallow them, thank God they are too big, because then it won’t be funny explaining that one to ACS.

He has also realized that he can suck, so other then feeding from Lina, he is sucking his hands, his arms, Lina’s arm and leaving a big red hickey. Lina told me that thank God it wasn’t her neck, how would she explain that one to me. LOL

Just a few weeks ago, he found out that he has knees. He started grabbing them, I guess real soon, he’ll figure out that he has these two little feet that he can put in his mouth. Can’t wait for that sight.

Just the other day, I witnessed him trying to sit on his own. Well not exactly, but I grab his little hand and he uses me to try and prop his self up, his head is still a little wobbly, but he is getting there.

He has been talking a little more everyday, you know the usual goo goo gaa gaa, ahhh and then this other sound that I can’t spell, but it is like a whistle at lunch time. It is so cute, but at 6 AM, trying to smile between the yawns, are a little difficult, but well worth it.

The joy of parenthood, aaahhhh what a feeling........................!!!!!! :)

Our Baby is Two Months Today

Happy 2 Months to our baby Christopher. He is growing fast, doing things that make us laugh. Smiling more, making funny noises, sleeping more and just getting used to us.

Some recent pictures of our baby.

Christopher Laughs at Daddy and talks to Daddy!!

As early as 6 AM this morning, Christopher decides he wants to wake up and be fed, burped and changed. I felt sorry for Lina so I decided to take him after she fed him, even though it was nearly one hour before I usually take him. But who am I to make his schedule for him.

Well, as I was changing him, he decides that it would be funny to urinate on daddy. He did it, looked at me, waited for my reaction, and just started laughing. Mind you my son is not even two months old yet. I started to laugh with him, and then it started. I was so amazed. He started to talk, now I know what you are thinking, "yeah ok". But it was not your normal chatter, it was baby talk, goo goo and gaa gaa and ahhh and some other sounds I can't spell. It must have lasted two minutes, but it felt like ten minutes. It just melted my heart. It was like he wanted to tell me so much, and took this time to do it. I would answer him and he would stop and then continue, and then smile and laugh. I never went back to sleep. I guess he gave me all the energy I needed for today.

Christopher Sees Daddy!!

I have to admit, parenthood is better than I could have ever imagined. I know being sleep deprived, dirty diapers, burping at 7:00 am in the morning, feeding the dog, walking the dog and trying to get to work on time, is something that would actually annoy someone else, but I have to admit, when I leave the house to go to work, I actually miss my three babies, Lina, Christopher and Zorro(our puppy).

My son looked at me the other day and just smiled without me having to force him or tickle him. He just looked at me and knew I was there. It was the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. It melted my heart. I have dreamt of this day for a long time. Thank God for little babies.

Always Praise the Lord........

This is a great song that just expresses all that I feel when I am in the mist of a trial. It just speaks volumes to how great God is.

Praise You in This Storm
By: Casting Crowns

I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen"
and it's still raining.

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God
Who gives and takes away.

Chorus:

I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For you are who you are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm.

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You.

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God
Who gives and takes away.

Chorus:
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For you are who you are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm.

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth.

Answer to a Prayer

I just wanted to share this letter that I wrote to my aunt. She sent my son, Christopher, a card and wrote to him, that we need Christ in our lives and that my son is a blessing to me and Lina and that we had been praying for him for a long time. It just touched my heart and I wanted to share it what I wrote to her.

Hi Annie,
I just wanted to share something with you. I read your card to Christopher again, and the point you made about us needing Jesus in our lives is so right. Reading your card really overwhelmed me, because it brought me back to those days of crying, praying, wishing that God would answer our prayers, the desires of our heart to become parents. These past 7 years of not knowing if Lina and I would ever be parents, have gone so fast, but when you are in the mist of it all, it seems like it will never end. You feel that your prayers are not being answered or that maybe that is not what God wants for your life. So you learn to just accept it, even though deep down inside you are hurting because you truly want this. You truly want to be a parent. You start to realize that you will really appreciate the opportunity if it is ever given to you.
When you are in the mist of your trial, you don’t understand the hold up, but when you are finally given the greatest gift that God has for you, then you finally see the whole picture. You finally realize how precious it is to become a parent. How not everyone will receive this gift. How long you have struggled and waited, so that when you finally get it, you are so overjoyed and overwhelmed, that it does not seem real. I look at Christopher every day and still I am in awe that he is mine. That God entrusted Lina and me with his little precious life. You are so connected to this little life, it doesn’t seem real. You finally realize the love that a parent feels for their child, you finally realize that your life is now complete, that all you have been working for and praying for is finally here for you to love and cherish.
I look back and that part of my life seems so far off. All God ever asked of me was to worship him and put him first in my life. It doesn’t matter that I am not perfect, it doesn’t matter that I have my faults, all that matters is that he wanted me to love him, worship him, and trust in him. Allow him to work in my life and allow him the time to do what he needed to do, his way not my way. It was a long journey, but one that I would do all over again, because by trusting in God, he has given me and Lina the greatest gift we could ever ask for.
Annie, your card just embraced all that I had been feeling. Each day I wake up, and I am so overwhelmed with Christopher. Each day I look at him, and just think, “WOW, he is ours and no one will take him away”. Each day I look at him, I can’t believe that he will get older and start to talk and finally say those three little letters that I have dreamed of hearing, “DAD”. I finally will experience the joy of parenthood. Praise be to God!!!! We definitely need God in our lives, because he makes us so much better. He watches over us and protects us and blesses us. If we live life his way, than we will have nothing to worry about.
I loved what you wrote, it just put everything into perspective. I will never forget the gift God gave us, gave to this family. Just when you thought it could never happen, God does a miraculous thing and blesses us all with his little angel.
